What Is MDF Coating?

Powder coating has evolved into a surface coating for MDF wood and other low cure substrates such as fiberglass and plastics. All-Color Powder Coating has a separate production line in operation that is designed solely for the purpose of coating low cure substrates. All-Color uses state of the art infrared ovens manufactured by Vulcan Catalytic, so the integrity of the MDF board is maintained throughout the coating process.

Powder coating is environmentally friendly. The process of powder coating contains no solvents, therefore creates negligible, if any, VOC emissions which helps combat air pollution. Powder coating also creates little in the form of material waste, along with powder not being considered hazardous waste unlike other forms of coating such as liquid paint coatings. This eliminates toxic sludge and water that contaminates the earth. Up to 98% of the powder overspray is collected and reclaimed for future use which creates a more efficient and economical form of coating.

Why Powder Coat Wood, Plastic and Fiberglass?

Powder coating your MDF substrate offers a very durable finish that will protect your product against chips, stains, spills and scratches. Powder coating offers a multitude of colors and textures to finish off your product. There are also special powder coatings that offer antimicrobial compounds that combat the growth and migration of bacteria. This is perfect for products machined for use in the medical, food service and childcare industries. If you are already having your metal parts powder coated we can match the powder so that your MDF and metal pieces have a color equivalent.

Powder coating your substrate will allow you to be more creative with your product designs. Edges are fully covered by powder coating no matter if it is an outside edge or interior circle or ellipse which eliminates edge banding. This allows you unlimited design possibilities and seamless edges. Any design from flat panels to complex cuts and routing can be powder coated. Designs such as curvilinear shapes are no problem for powder coating.

Why Choose All-Color Powder Coating?

We here at All Color Powder Coating have the goal of being a leader in the powder coating industry. We have conducted testing on other low cure substrates, and will in the future continue to work with our customers to give them a powder coated product, no matter what material, that is superior to what they could get elsewhere. If you create a product using such materials as MDF wood, fiberglass or other heat sensitive materials and are looking for an attractive and durable finish give us a call and we will work with you to provide a powder coated tough product. We also, through outside relationships, have the ability to have your parts machined if you wish only to send us engineering drawings.
